Agony of Da Feets
Against my better judgment the spousal unit and I signed up for our second distance race. Last weekend we finished the Amercan Discovery Trail (ADT) Half Marathon here in Colorado Springs. This comes on the (sore) heals of the Colfax Half Marathon in Denver earlier this year. Our goal for Colfax was to finish, and we managed that. My goal for the ADT was to knock 20 minutes off my time, and lo and behold, I dropped more than 40 minutes. I still finished near the bottom of the pack, which should give an indication of my running prowess, but it’s amazing how much you can improve if you actually train.
Now the wife has her eyes on a full marathon for next year. What have gotten ourselves into???

That’s not a pic of your feet, is it?
I am an on-again, off-again runner. I’m still holding out hope that I will be have enough training done in time to run a marathon in early April, after our newest baby is born in October. It’s cool, because at 11, Ethan is old enough now to go running with me… well, at this point, being heavily pregnant, he’s gone walking with me. But, during both baseball last spring, and swimming this summer, he complained of a lack of endurance. Hm… Well… I know how to fix that!! I’m really looking forward to training with him over the winter and early spring.

Not my feet. Those are stunt feet.
