UK Telegraph reports that the Ft Hood terrorist had a link to the 9-11 murderers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour. Nidal Hasan attended the same mosque in Falls Church, Virginia, as the assassins in mid-2001.
The preacher at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who was banned from addressing a meeting in London by video link in August because he is accused of supporting attacks on British troops and backing terrorist organisations.
Hasan’s eyes “lit up” when he mentioned his deep respect for al-Awlaki’s teachings, according to a fellow Muslim officer at the Fort Hood base in Texas, the scene of Thursday’s horrific shooting spree.
But there’s nothing to see here. No terrorism here at all. It’s just PTSD or something. People called him mean names. After all, Hasan’s uncle said the bloody murderer who killed 13 was a peaceful man, a deeply sensitive individual who once fainted when assisting at a child birth and who mourned the death of a pet bird for three months. Move along. Move along. Nothing to see here.
