Alaska governor Sarah Palin definitely has her priorities in order. She recently gave birth to a son, Trig Paxson Palin, who she knew early in her pregnancy would suffer from Downs Syndrome.
Over a month ago, her office announced that the 44-year-old and her husband, Todd, were expecting their fifth child in May. It was a secret the beguiling brunette, a runner, managed to keep from even her staff.
Then, April 18, she surprised us again by giving birth a month early to Trig Palin, 6 pounds, 2 ounces. In true Sarah fashion, her amniotic fluid leaked in Texas, she gave a speech at a Republican Governors Association convention as scheduled anyway, and then returned to Alaska to deliver.
Immediately the family made this announcement: “Trig is beautiful and already adored by us. We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives.”
“We’ve both been very vocal about being pro-life,” Palin said. “We understand that every innocent life has wonderful potential.”
As if that wasn’t enough, she has directed the Alaska State Attorney General to sue the federal government to prevent the listing of polar bears as a threatened species. Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne listed the species in response to pressure from the global warming crowd and enviro groups that seek to stop oil development at any cost. Polar bear populations have soared in recent years, so Kempthorne’s decision is doubly ludicrous.
From a FoxNews piece:
[Governor Palin] and other Alaska elected officials fear a listing will cripple oil and gas development in prime polar bear habitat off the state’s northern and northwestern coasts.
Palin argued that there is not enough evidence to support a listing. Polar bears are well-managed and their population has dramatically increased over 30 years as a result of conservation, she said.
Climate models that predict continued loss of sea ice, the main habitat of polar bears, during summers are unreliable, said Palin, a Republican.
I hear John McCain is looking for a running mate, but I think Gov Palin’s integrity and sense of duty to her family and her country would overshadow McCain.

Boy Obama for chief Doggie Catcher 2008.
September 29th, 2008 08:42 am
Elliott,
I deleted your previous comments due to the racial slur/stereotype. You’re welcome to comment here, but keep it clean. Obama’s failings and lack of experience/ability will speak for themselves.
September 29th, 2008 16:52 pm
I just love Palin’s take on the bailouts…LOL!
September 29th, 2008 21:22 pm
Good day Steve, regarding your comments towards my recent posting, do you mean to tell me that it is no longer political correct for one African American to use a racial slur to towards another African American?According to the left leaning media in this country this practice completly acceptable. Or was the supposed racial slur commited when I addressed Jamie as Miss. Jamie? Please explain your self. Thank you so very much Steve.
September 29th, 2008 22:39 pm
Some would say that calling him ‘boy’ was racist. I agree with you that his utter lack of experience means that he is utterly unfit for the job.
October 4th, 2008 17:45 pm
Brian…you’ve been listening to Rush Limbaugh and other American extremists for too long. As an independent, I research facts instead of blindly supporting my “pary”. This isn’t a football game.
Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson noted the key reason for the financial meltdown was not undercapitalization at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, but rather the Bush administration’s refusal to regulate banks and mortgage companies in their leveraging of questionable debt and their use of absurd adjustable mortgage rates (ARMs) for people that couldn’t afford enormous increases in their payment.
IN other words, corporate greed. I was part of that corporate green at one time. Countrywide made loans many times knowing the person could not pay; many times not even verifying income. Questionable loans were quickly sold – had to get that commission, leave someone else holding the bag.
In addition, Congressman Barney Frank and many other Democrats did not support the rampant misuse of ARMs and improper document, job and income verification with regard to subprime home purchases.
This was, for the most part, the doings of the Republicans in the George W. Bush administration.
The CRA was to level the playing field so that banks could not discriminate mortgages based on race and gender. It was misused and allowed to run wild, as Sarah Palin said in her debate. I hope whoever wins can get us back on track.
October 5th, 2008 14:57 pm
For all of your who think Sarah Palin is qualified to be Vice President of the United States, you’re not thinking further than the fact that she is Christian and her stance on abortion. She said that she is like Joe Six Pack… Ok. It’s fine to be Joe Six Pack, but I don’t want someone like that in the #2 position of the country!!! Republicans should be mortified and ashamed to have someone so shallow intellectually be on the ticket. And I KNOW many of them ARE embarrased. Since when don’t we want someone actually MORE intelligent than the ‘average joe’ in such a high position? She may be great for a small state (population-wise) like Alaska, but to run the United States?!?! Forget her ‘executive’ experience running a small town (and from what I read, she actually hired a City Manager to run the town), she has no deeper thoughts on any subject, but only goes to the talking points and surface of everything. She doesn’t think further than that. I want someone who has a deep understanding of the world around them, someone who is thirsty for knowledge and experience (she has ZERO interest in anything other than herself). Take, for example, the abortion argument: She would like it to be illegal. If it’s illegal for a woman to have an abortion (murder, killing are the words that anti-choice people use), then what should the punishment be? All murders have 1) prison time OR 2) death penalty as punishment. Yet she said that she would ABSOLUTELY NOT support putting a woman in jail (in the Couric interview). Well, then what? Community service? None of you anti-choice people think about the woman AT ALL. If a mother of 3 young children, lets’ say, who is a widow, has an abortion in an America where it’s illegal, she would have to go to prison? What about her kids? Anyway, this was just an example of her type of shallow thinking, and not thinking through a position. That’s why she can’t do anything other than parrot talking points.
October 5th, 2008 16:27 pm
intank,
Your analysis is a little thin. It was largely the democrats that created the mess we’re in financially. Barney Frank and his ‘partner’ put Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in the position of giving unsecured loans to unqualified low-income applicants – people who knew they would never be able to repay the loans. Do a little research first.
October 5th, 2008 17:35 pm
Steve…um… Let’s see… 8 years of Republican rule over economy and foreign policy (which are intertwined in many areas), and OF COURSE it’s the Democrats who ‘created the mess we’re in financially”. Ok, THAT is funny
Good one! Excellent!
October 5th, 2008 18:28 pm
Who do you think creates and implements the agencies? Hint: it’s not the president.
October 7th, 2008 18:46 pm
This person has spent her adult life believing we are living in “end days” and that she is part of the “last generation”, and she is close to having the nuclear codes. Folks, please. A lot of people are real. I’m real. But I don’t think I could be president. Her confidence without preparation is terrifying, considering the state of the world in which she could become its most powerful leader. We are in actual danger here. Please stop and think.
October 11th, 2008 18:49 pm
She has a teenaged daughter who is pregnant out of wedlock, a new-born baby with special needs, but will neglect her family for a career advancement. Hmmmm… Great Family Values!!! She has been an active member of the AIP (Alaskan Independance Party) since the 90’s and this organization wants to succeed from the United States. Hmmmm…. Very Patriotic!!! McCain picked a real winner…. NOT!!
Obama is looking like a great choice as president now. He is smart, well-spoken, and very little dirt has been found on him. He is not full of hate and fear like McCain and Palin. He isn’t even Muslim!!
Please stop hating Muslims. They are not all bad people. Many of our troops over in Iraq right now, fighting for our FREEDOM, are muslim. They are working taxpaying citizens!! Listen people, you or someone you love may end up in the emergency room one day and your surgeon may be black or a Muslim and he/ she will save your life, so stop being racist!
Racism is fear and ignorance. You must rise above it if you want to function in a civilized society.
October 14th, 2008 14:48 pm
I thought this page was a joke. How sad i am to find that it is all too serious.
October 14th, 2008 15:24 pm
Object,
What’s the joke, or what do you find so sad? My point in making this post (back in May of this year before McCain had chosen his VP nom) was that McCain has little connection to the conservative base. He would do well to nominate someone to shore up that base. Lo and behold, he chooses my pick. I was not seriously suggesting that Gov Palin be the Republican nominee for president, but that Republicans needed to return to socially conservative positions. McCain will not do that, so the best we can get is a socially conservative VP choice.
October 14th, 2008 20:25 pm
[...] my posts from May 2008 (long before John McCain picked her as his running mate). It was entitled Sarah Palin for President, because I suggested that even a then-unknown governor from Alaska was a better conservative choice [...]
October 15th, 2008 04:57 am
I think even if republicans loose election this time around, 2012 will be a contest between srah palin and hillary clinton
October 15th, 2008 09:17 am
Possibly, though if it came down to Hillary vs Palin, Hillary would probably eat Palin’s lunch. Gov Palin is the better candidate all around, but Hillary is an experienced campaigner. A Mitt Romney/Sarah Palin ticket could defeat Hillary/anybody.
October 16th, 2008 02:11 am
Palin is a disgrace.
October 16th, 2008 07:07 am
Nick,
In what sense? She’s a social conservative doing the job she was hired to do. Alaskans loved her as governor. She brings a freshness and outsider view that Washington desperately needs. Just because you disagree with her views doesn’t mean she’s a ‘disgrace’ to anyone. Read her story, listen to her views, and educate yourself.
October 16th, 2008 14:24 pm
A couple of things.
1 if you believe that the Fannie and Freddie are to blame for a GLOBAL Economic crisis
you need to read alot more. there’s about 1 trillion in sub-prime loans. there is 62 trillion Credit
defalt swaps that are payable if these loans fail.http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article6335.html
2 I like palin as a person. In MN we elected someone to lead us that we liked as a person Jesse Ventura.
former mayor( 60,000 people) turned govorner (5 mil people)190.8 billion GDP {Alaska is 40 bil}
I like about Palin, she is less qualified then Jesse Ventura and may be of equal intelligence. They have
a mirror career of making sure that their own personal interst are taken care of through their politics.
3Palin represents an image of a working-class mom that can bring home tha bacon and fry it! This is something that white woman can identify with. not to say thay women of color can’t, but that is not the target market. So if this pick provides a solid base for Mccain to go after his traditional independent voters and also pick up some conversatives that like her position.
Let’s be clear that if mccain wanted a true conservative with proven record of experience Mark sanford would have been a better choice. If he wanted a woman with exprience he could of picked Kay Hutchinson. Palin was a pick to win the election and not as a sounding board or confidant.
October 17th, 2008 10:04 am
If she’s so devoted to her family why did she except this nomination when sesh
she knew it would mean that her daughter would be held up for public
scrutiny? Her family needs her now more than ever. How much time will
she be able to spend with her precious special needs child. How is she
going to be there to help her teen daughter struggle with raising a child
when she’s just a child herself? Sorry, no mother of the year award for
Palin.
October 18th, 2008 17:08 pm
I really wish we could make every one of you Bush defenders pay a penalty to clean up this mess he’s made (with your ignorant help, since you voted for him). The rational, intelligent community is growing tired of living in the mess your republican policies have forced onto the rest of us. YOU are the reason are country is ridiculed and hated by most of the world.
YOU are the ones forcing your religous views and teachings into politics and law.
YOU are supporters of back-room deals and greed that leads to endless bloodshed and violence for profit.
I’m starting to feel some of the loathing that must lead to action. I can’t imagine what I’d feel if I were one of the victims of our country’s bully military actions. I guess I’d probably feel true rage. I’d want revenge. Or at least you gone from my land. I might even be angry enough to find ways to retaliate. Even at the cost of my own life. If they were on OUR soil, occupying OUR land for 6 years, killing OUR civilians , would we not be fighting back? And wouldn’t those Americans fighting back the occupiers be called freedom fighters? Or would you call them terrorists? It all depends on whose choosing the label….
whatever you label them, our abuse of military power over the last 6 years has created 500 times as many of them out of the formerly average peaceful muslims. Good job, republicans. I wish we could declare war on your stupidity.

Sarah Palin is an idiot. She can’t handle herself in front of the media and thinks dinosaurs and man coexisted. People like her are the reason the entire world hates the US. Keep her and John McCain out of the White House.
October 20th, 2008 09:21 am
Rico,
On the contrary, I think she handles her self exceptionally well. She has a great presence in interviews and in her debate with Joe Biden. Whatever people think of her personal beliefs, she and McCain will be infinitely better for the US that the warmed over socialism that Obama presents.
October 22nd, 2008 21:42 pm
Sarah Palin has been succesfully vilified by the dishonest, biased media like no other politician has in decades. Considering this, you have to ask yourself why? The answer is that she represents the one real hope of the Republican party, and the far left knows this and fears what she is capable of achieving. Washington is broken, on both sides of the isle. The entire political process is corrupt, as evidenced by the Obama campaign. Self preservation and greed are the order of the day and you’re fooling yourself if you think otherwise. As the first woman president in the history of our nation in 2012, Sarah Palin will not accept the status quo. She will bring honesty, integrity and common sense back to the table, and for the first time since 1980, we’ll have a person running this country that honestly cares about the Americam people and the values that made this country great once. Palin for President! 2012
October 22nd, 2008 22:58 pm
Wait…really?
For a second I thought this was a sarcastic article, before realizing, in partial horror, that you end on a serious note. The comments ran along the same line, although a few times someone popped up with a little glimmer of reason.
Palin is not at all fit for vice president. As someone mentioned earlier, John McCain has a very high chance of dying while in office. The idea of Palin as PRESIDENT is just horrifying.
Anti-choice, pro-creationism, pro-drilling, pro-war…
I respect McCain, despite the fact that I disagree with most of his stances. Still, Obama all the way.
I’ll admit that, when Palin is coached (as in the Vice Presidential debates), she may not come off great but at least not as a blathering lunatic. A more real vision of Sarah Palin came in the Katie Couric interview, that she was not prepped for.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nokTjEdaUGg
Don’t use the excuse that was her being ‘manipulated by the elite liberal media’.
At least she can see Russia from her backyard.
October 23rd, 2008 20:42 pm
Sarah Palin is brand new to the ‘Washington’ scene, and considering that these clowns have brought us to the brink of ruin, that cannot be seen as a negative. Is she well schooled in the typical political ‘double talk’? Again, no, but is that a negative? Do you enjoy listening to these politicians talk for 15 minutes and say absolutely nothing, Obama included? If you are an honest person, you must agree that the biased media has gone overboard in attempts to smear her, which would be fine if they took the same approach with all the candidates, but they don’t! Did you see any hoopla about M. Obama eating lobster and Iranian cavier? Has anyone questioned her wardrobe expenses? The media wants to focus on what Gov Palin wears and ignores significant signs of a campaign funding scandal in Obama’s campaign…Bottom line is, you can shout from the roof tops that Palin is not qualified, however, that doesn’t make it so. Obama’s resume is thinner, but noone wants to acknowledge that because he can deliver a smooth line. She has more integrity and a stronger sense of self that Barack Obama could ever hope to have. She not only is qualified to be the V.P., she is more qualified that the ‘False Prophet’ to be president. My only challenge is to survive the next four years, while I watch the Islamic extremists dance in the streets in the Middle East celebrating Obama’s victory. Then, I will have my turn to dance in the street celebrating her first term as President of the United States. Sarah Palin for President 2012!
October 23rd, 2008 21:45 pm
Are you people serious?
This woman has absolutely no qualifications running for a major office?
She has zero education…a degree in journalism? It took her, what, six years and 4 different schools?
I mean, just hearing her speak should scare the crap out of everyone.
No abortion, even in the case of rape or incest? I mean, God gave us free will, who the hell is any man to take it away?
Look, I’m a very Christian Conservative (I’m actually orthodox, so that’s about as conservative as you can get), but I would never vote for Sarah Palin.
She is too ignorant, uneducated, and closed minded. John McCain had my vote until he picked this retard as his running mate.
Conservatives, take a step back and look at your party. Just because the GOP throws some garbage out there, doesn’t mean we have to accept it.
I mean, she’s really more qualified than Mitt Romney??? Really??
October 24th, 2008 16:20 pm
“this retard as his running mate”…yep, sounds like you have given Sarah Palin careful and thorough consideration! Unbelievable how paranoid people are of what this woman is capable of. She has a manner of connecting with people, evident by her convention speech and VP debate outdrawing both presidential candidates, as well as the ratings of whatever show she goes on (SNL-highest ratings in 14 yrs). This you cannot deny…what you also cannot deny, if you lay off the kool aid, is that she has had SUBSTANTIALLY more responsibility than the ‘false prophet’ Obama has ever had, that she has accomplished far more than he, prior to his annointment as the democratic ‘messiah’ for 2008. Granted, she has some growing to do, and that will take place, but don’t dismiss the vast potential she possesses. To the dismay of many, the ONLY thing that will stop her from the ultimate achievement of being the first female president is her own degree of ambition. Like her or not, you better get used to her!
October 25th, 2008 22:42 pm
Fortunately, most Americans are smarter than you, and will show this come election day. McCain will be destroyed (unfortunate, because he is a fair and good man), and everyone knows its because of his selection of Sarah Palin as VP. I find it funny you try to bring up the SNL ratings…you do realize they are making fun of her, correct? Again, I am a dedicated conservative, and I do NOT support Obama, but this women is absolutely horrific. I do not understand how anyone can support a woman who:
-is a blatant racist – she constantly questions Obama’s American loyalty. He was born here, and has an American mother born in Kansas. Where exactly do these accusations come from? His name? His skin color? Watch a rally with Sarah Palin next time, and see what happens when she brings up Obama..sounds like a KKK rally. Oh and she goes on about past relationships Obama has had…what about her own husband who supports Alaska’s secessation from the US? Sounds pretty anti-American to me…there are bigger issues here…why this one is important to her I have no idea.
- Abuse of power – the story about how she fired an individual who wouldn’t fire her former brother-in-law is particularly disturbing. It shows an absolute disregard for fairness and an illicit abuse of power
- Lack of Education – It is quite disturbing that it took her 7 years to get a 4 year degree…I understand college is difficult, having a doctorate myself, but that sounds more like 1 too many keggers.
-Lack of significant experience – governor of Alaska??? The mayor of a major city probably has more responsibiilty than an insignificant state with the lowest population in the Union.
-”Drill, baby, Drill” – Her motto I have heard one too many times. Mrs. Palin is part of the neo-conservative elite that fails to understand that our dependance on oil is not only damaging the environment, but is the catalyst for many of our problems today. When the Great Depression occurred, most historians will point to WWII as the turning point of our economy. Why? Because our country focused on industry, science, and weapon creation to fuel the war machine we were building. Obviously, no one wants to see a new war, so Washington needs to declare a “war on Oil.” Instead of wasting 10 Billion a month on a useless war in Iraq, put that money towards REAL alternative energy solutions. Create research funds and build the infrastructure necessary to end our dependence on foreign oil. Not only will this create new jobs, end our oil dependence, clean up the environment, but this will stimulate the economy, as we can export our newly discovered technologies to other countries. This will also end our involvement in the Middle East. With oil no longer necessary, we will have no interest at all in the Middle East. We can pull all of our troops out there, and guess what? The Middle East will become completely irrelevant at that point.
Or we can just keep doing what we are doing, and hope for the same results…Drill, baby, drill indeed.
Any doubters should simply watch her interview with Katie Couric..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbQwAFobQxQ
Absolutely horrific.
October 26th, 2008 11:43 am
Sounds like you’ve been spending too much time reading the NY Times and watching MSNBC, althoughul that was a very credible rendition of the Obama talking points.
You can insult me and ridicule me all you want, but like it or not, she is a very powerful woman, with a bright political future. The only thing that will impede her rise to the presidency will be her own level of ambition. She is a great American story, an honest, hard working woman who has the strength and character to stand up to the corrupt ways of government and say we Americans deserve better.
The truth is that the liberals are extremely fearful of what she is capable of, and, with the assistance of the corrupt media, will stop at nothing to destroy her. Obviously, you buy into that, unless your views are purely sexist. However, the republicans have not only matched thier “celebrity”, but have done so with an individual who actually has style AND substance. She understands that this country was great once, based on solid, traditional values, and that scares the hell out of all the secular progressives out there.
Unfortunaely, it appears that Obama has duped the American public with his campaign of style and personality, counting on us to be lazy with the facts and buy the book based on the cover, and will reach the White House. Nonetheless, this simply sets the stage for an easy win in 2012 for Gov. Palin. Americans, at that point, will have seen first hand that Obama did not bring CHANGE as he promised, and will HOPE for the end of his rein!
Palin for President – 2012!
October 26th, 2008 17:38 pm
Well said, Tom. The left has talking points, but no substance. That is, unless you consider higher taxes all around and European-style socialism to be substance.
November 3rd, 2008 22:35 pm
I’m glad that people like Steve above are able to see how absolutely terrifying the choice of Palin for VP was.
The woman is an idiot, plain and simple.
Moreover, if you vote McCain, YOU’RE an idiot.
You’re also an idiot if:
1.) You think having the middle name “Hussein” makes you a terrorist. Do you f*cking idiots not understand that people don’t choose their own names? Additionally, do you not understand the difference between a middle name and a last name?
2.) You think Obama will literally turn this country socialist. Good god.
3.) You think abortion should be criminalized. Apparently you hate womens’ rights, but not all of us do.
4.) You think a black man shouldn’t be allowed to do a “white man’s job.”
OBAMA ‘08 or die.
November 4th, 2008 21:44 pm
For the record, the ‘Steve’ that Josh refers to in the previous comment is not yours truly.
Josh is spouting standard liberal tripe and if he actually looks at Obamessiah’s platform, he will indeed see lots of good, old-fashioned Marxist-Leninist socialism. Pray for your country.
November 5th, 2008 00:43 am
Give me a break…first of all, none of you Palin supporters responded to any of my points about her abuse of power, her lack of education, her policy on energy, or her lack of experience. Secondly, my views on Mrs. Palin have nothing to do with her gender. As a conservative, there are many women that I think have excellent views and are very capable of leadership. Mrs. Palin is an insult to these women who have worked hard, are well educated, and have significant leadership experience.
Secondly, I’m not in love with Obama, but he is better than the Fascist regime we have had with George W. Bush, and would have had with Sarah Palin. Again, let me re-iterate, I am a conservative. I would have loved to see McCain pick a more well rounded conservative like Mitt Romney or (gasp) Collin Powell. I truly think McCain would have won this election had he done so.
A Republican government to me, means a government that gives less power to the federal government and more power to the individual states. It is a government that eliminates wasteful government spending and respects individual freedoms. Under the Bush administration, we have seen the federal government expand to heights never seen before. We have seen our personal freedoms infringed upon (Patriot Act, anyone??). This administration has spent more money per capita than any other administration in the history of the United States. This administration has also seen a redistrubution of wealth….8 years ago, the wealthiest 1% of this country controlled 36% of the wealth. Today this same 1% now controls 57% of money. I’m pretty sure most people here aren’t in that top 1%.
Thirdly, I would never say something like Obama or die…that isn’t necessary and it’s stupid. Nobody should ever make a statement like that. I think both Obama and McCain are good and fair men, and I think both would have done a good job.
Sarah Palin, on the other hand, single handedly cost McCain this election. Again, watch the link to the Katie Couric interview. Please tell me how you can possibly think she is qualified after that train wreck of interview?
November 5th, 2008 01:05 am
It seems to me, Steve, that we are both conservatives…however you are socially conservative and I am fiscally conservative.
I actually am a Christian, but I know that the Good Lord above gave all of us the freedom to choose for ourselves. I don’t agree with any man/woman taking those choices away.
What I am worried about is a stable economy, a stable global climate, and a government that preserves our individual freedoms. I don’t care about who gets abortions, and whether or not my daughter learns about creationism or evolution in school. My children learn from me and my examples. I would hope that all our children grow up to be open minded individuals, not fear driven religious fanatics who can’t tolerate the beliefs of others.
It seems that you are motivated by fear…fear of a society that isn’t dominated by Christian ideals. There is a place that is also ruled by religious ideals…that place is called the Middle East. The great thing about America is the seperation of Church and State…or at least it should be.
November 5th, 2008 07:19 am
Steve,
A couple of points:
Sarah Palin, on the other hand, single handedly cost McCain this election
No, Republicans cost McCain this election. If you look at the political history of this country, when Republicans run as fiscal and social conservatives, they win. When they try to run from the center or from the left, they lose miserably. Or they win, and then quickly turn things over to the democratic party at the next election. Look at 1994. People were horrified at the abuses of Bill Clinton, so Newt Gingrich and Karl Rove created a dynamite strategy that took back Congress. Republicans then started spending like drunken sailors – apologies to drunken sailors everywhere. I will that when dems are elected, we know who they are. There is no pretense whatever to fiscal responsibility.
I don’t care about who gets abortions, and whether or not my daughter learns about creationism or evolution in school. My children learn from me and my examples.
And what a horrid example. What matters if life doesn’t? That’s a foundation principle, and you blew it. It’s not fear of a non-Christian world that motivates me. I read the end of the book and I know who wins in the end. What motivates me is trying to slow the steady slide toward abject depravity. The election booth is one place where we should be working to do that. My only fear is how badly this country must sink when we abandon life, faith, and moral responsibility.
November 5th, 2008 12:56 pm
As I continue to watch the slow moral decline in this country, it really saddens to me to think that America has seen it’s best days. I don’t have much faith in any politician, Rep or Dem, as most put self preservation above all else, including principle, and I don’t beleive they are they answer to our problems. Which is exactly why Sarah Palin is such a refreshing alternative! As this presidential election finally ends, I think all Americans should be seriously bothered by the media in this country. What the media did to Sarah Palin is an absolute disgrace and any self respecting person would have to agree, however, that is just the tip of the iceberg. Think about it, we now have a political party in power that has the mainstream media in this country as an active participant of that party. There will be those who try to disparage what I just said, however, it is the truth. That, I beleive is a greater danger to our country than Obama, and his hard left agenda that was indeed founded on his socialist ideology. We can no longer count on being told the truth. In todays world, most folks will just absorb the adlines they see, investing very little time into understanding anything beyond that.
November 5th, 2008 13:45 pm
As we continue to lose sight of the traditional values that made America the great nation it once was, I know that moving further left is not the answer. It scares me to think that the youth in this nation are being educated by the likes of Ayers, Khalidi, etc.. Although, that is part of the secular progressive plan that the far left has in place.
I, too, wonder how far will we sink, before Americans realize what’s happening. I do know that what Sarah Palin offers is a step in the right direction, however, with the assistance of a corrupt media, the far left has done everything possible to destroy her. Any self-respecting person in this country should be ashamed of what has been done to this woman. They have tried to minimize her, and have done a good job of convincing a lot of people that she has no enduring qualities, not that it takes much effort to mold the minds of most in this country. It’s the ultimate iriony to see so many idiots who are unwilling or unable to open their minds call her an idiot! I know she has more growing to do, however, after watching Joe Biden over the past few months, it blows my mind that people think he is a better choice that she. Just goes to show that people believe what they want to beleive.
And speaking of the media, our greater challenge as a country is not Obama and his hard left agenda that WAS forged from socialist ideology, rather, it is the media itself. Think about this…we now have a political party in this country that has the mainstream media as a participating ally! Hitler and Stalin would be proud. The role a free media plays in a democracy is critical, and that role has ceased to exist. That is the most radical accomplishment of the far left, and it barely creates a ripple. I’m not sure what happened to my country, but I know it’s not likely to turn around. As the bible say, it will all come to pass. Seeing what I see these day’s, I do have to beleive that we, as a nation, deserve what’s coming.

My point about the abortion example was freedom of choice, but you obviously are one of those who feels he has the right to choose for everyone else.
And to those who are talking about a slow moral decline….I don’t see it. I do see a country that once was built upon a pillar of hate and bigotry with slavery in the 1800’s and segregation for a good part of the 1900’s. Today, unlike you, I have hope because I see that this country has moved from its vile and disgusting past of racism, bigotry, and hatred. A country where people were onced valued on the color of their skin doesn’t sound like a great nation to me.
Just to point out a few things, I gave a clear and rationale argument as to why Sarah Palin wasn’t qualified (see my post on October 25th). None of you addressed a single point on that post. The only reply I got was liberal left wing media and other typical paranoid nonsense. If you really think Joe Biden is a worse candidate, please explain why? Is it his lack of experience? Lack of education? Is it his policies?
Again, go watch the interview with Katie Couric that I posted the link to. Explain to me how a woman with any sense of intelligence could fail that miserably on an interview?

And to those who are talking about a slow moral decline….I don’t see it.
That’s probably the most troubling thing today. People don’t see it. We have to tell people that it’s not alright to slaughter the unborn or to copulate like rabbits with others who aren’t their spouses. We have freedom to choose, but we also tend to forget about consequences, short term or long term. Society has become about calling evil good, and good evil, and you can’t see it.
Sarah Palin is not a perfect person, but she’s a step in the right direction. Her Couric interview was no worse than most of what Joe Biden has said publicly, yet she is vilified. What not be honest and admit that your revulsion is for social conservatism, not for one person. I’m saddened and sickened that you “don’t see it” and you “don’t care who gets abortions”, just so long as they are not burdened with a baby. That would cramp their style, wouldn’t it?
I suppose we get the government we deserve.

I will respond to your accusations…first you state that she is a racist, which is utter nonsense. That is a typical Obama tactic toward anyone who disagrees with his position. She questioned his values because of his numerous associations with radical, anti-American, Marxist associates, as I do. He writes about this in one of his books, staing “I chose my friends carefully”. His exposure to socialism is extensive! Do some homework…You mention the rallys, are you aware of the vile t-shirts that where common at Obama rallys, or does he get excused because he’s the messiah? Also, the Secret Service verified that there were never any comments made referring to ‘killing’ anyone.
Regarding her abuse of power, I am pasting a comment that came out yesterday from Alaska…not that you’ve heard peep about in the corrupt media: >Alaska’s Personnel Board concluded Monday that Gov. Sarah Palin did not violate ethics law by trying to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from the state police, contradicting an earlier investigation’s findings. “There is no probable cause to believe that the governor, or any other state official, violated the Alaska Executive Ethics Act in connection with these matters,” Timothy Petumenos, the Anchorage lawyer hired to conduct the investigation, wrote in his final report.< NEXT…
Education…there is a difference between education and common sense. The elite academia Obama)is part of the problem in this country. I shudder to think that the likes of Ayers, Khalidi, etc… are educating our children. Her education is not from an Ivy League school, true, and neither was Abraham Lincolns’, who had a total of 18 mos. of any formal education. Look where all the bright, intelligent individuals have gotten us now.
Experience? Do we really have to go there? Once I answer this, give me the same respect for Obamas experience…Sarah Palin has more executive experience than Obama, Biden and McCain…the office of the President is an executive position. She has a higher security clearance level than all 3 other candidates. She has set a budget for the state of Alaska, again, the only one to have done so, and I could go on and on. You can dismiss her experience as the Governor, however, Clinton was a Governor, as was Reagan.
As for your position on drilling, it’s just your opinion. Drilling now simply allows a buffer until we can develope the technology to get away from oil, of which, everyone agrees! These are our resources, and we have the ability to tap them without significant damage to our environment, and it will help keep costs in line. And the top oil executives have already said that they can get product to market in less than 3 years.
As for Joe Biden, this guy is a clown. The biased media gave him pass after pass…such as there being TV in 1929, FDR being president then when it was Herbert Hoover, talking about having visited a diner ‘recently’ that closed over 10 years ago in the debate, stating that he had a full scholarship and finished in the top fourth of his class when he had a half scholarship and finished near the bottom, and he was quilty of plagarism while in Law School (bet you didn’t know that-again due to a biased media). Enough? There’s more, but had he been grilled like Palin, he would never have survived.
Obviously, you are not in support of Sarah Palin, and that’s your right. However, if you are going to attack her, do it fairly, with some dignity and respect, both for yourself, as well as the Governor.
Moral decline starts with the systematic removal of God from our country, which was founded as one nation, under God. As we continue to distance ourselves from t
he traditional values that this country was built upon, we will continue losing our place in this world as the last, great hope. You can cherry pick this to bring up racism, but every society has it’s sins, but that doesn’t mean folks embrace them.

Governor Palin is so bad in so many ways, she actually makes Bush likable…
I liked and respected Senator McCain..but Palin makes me sick…the only good thing that i can think of Palin is that we got to see Tiny Fey’s take on her…
December 29th, 2008 01:28 am
Can you imagine the audacity of someone giving birth to a child that she knew would be less than perfect? For shame. Also, sarcasm aside, we are thankful for someone who is honest about the polar bear population.. they use this to scare the children in schools and even flash photos of these animals on the news when they speak about ‘declining species’ as if to insinuate that the bears are on the decline when they have really increased by 400%.
You cannot sit in front of your TVs anymore and believe what they say.
The public was dumb enough to confuse Fey with Palin — it was Fey who said the Russia comment NOT PALIN. But liberals will believe what they want to believe.

The ticket for 2012 is Sarah Palin/Alan Keyes. This ticket will eat Democrats for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner…in the debates and bring America back to its roots and to its Constitutional purpose. Keyes would help Palin revamp the tax system and impliment the Fair Tax and eliminate the IRS and Fed Reserve (which is the source of the recession).
Palin is the darling…and Alan Keyes is the bulldog…needed to take the Obama machine. Go Palin/Keyes for 2012!
Though, I like Huckabee…he’s too soft. They would look too soft when debating and campaigning. If Sarah Palin loses in the primaries to say Mike Huckabee…we still need to support Alan Keyes to be picked as Vice President. Then, we can be assured that they would handpick Sarah Palin to be an important role in the ADministration. She’d be our “Esther” in time of need. I’d also want Palin/Keyes to consider Michele Bachman and Bobby Jindal to be a part of the Administration, as well.
Man! 2012 can’t come any sooner! Palin/Keyes in 2012!!!
