ham is your friend Ham’s substantial, Ham is fat
Ham is firm and sound.
Ham is what God was getting at,
when he made pigs so round.

Top 10 Reasons to Eat Pigs

Category: miscellaneousSteve @ 08:19 am

mmm, baconUPDATE: KingDavid pointed out a holiday that I missed: Tuesday, 2 October was apparently World Farm Animals Day. PETA-types had all sorts of protests against the subjugation of their brother/sister creatures. Not sure how I missed it, but in honor of the festivities, here’s my earlier homage to farm animals.

ORIGINAL POST: The PETA folks have created a Top 10 Reasons Not to Eat Pigs site. You can look it up if you want, but I won’t give them a link. Here is my response:

The Top 10 Reasons to Eat Pigs

1. Bacon. Need I say more? Goes well with scrambled eggs, rye toast, grits, and coffee.

2. Bacon. Did I say that already?Because it irritates this guy.mookie al sadr

3. Pork Tenderloin sammiches. Just like we used to get at the McLean County Fair. Tractor pulls, stock shows, demolition derby and a big breaded slab o’ pork hanging out of the bun. Mustard and a tad of mayo. Mmmmm.

4. Bratwurst (and assorted other sausages). Marinated in dark beer with onions and then grilled just so.

5. Ribs. Wet, dry or sweet, it’s all good.

6. Country Ham. No need to adulterate it with cloves or pineapple, just pink juicy goodness. Perfect for after-Christmas leftovers sandwiches.

7. Biscuits and gravy. This was a staple in my college days for the morning after the night before. And a dash or three of tabasco.

8. Did I mention bacon yet?bacon sammich

9. Pork Chops. Lightly grilled and tender, so the juices flow when you cut it.

10. And finally, because pigs are made of meat!
