The webcams at the Panama Canal have been upgraded with the addition of a high-resolution camera at Miraflores. (Java required). It’s always interesting to see what’s passing through the canal and with the new camera at the Miraflores Lock, you can get a very clear view.

The webcams at the Panama Canal occasionally catch some interesting critters, and with the addition of a hi-res cam at the Miraflores lock you can get an even better view of things. This morning there’s a submarine transiting the canal. Any idea whose?

The falcon that shows up periodically on the Panama Canal webcam is back. There is some debate as to whether it’s a bat falcon or orange-breasted falcon, but he’s pretty interesting either way.
