“For me to live is Christ, to die is gain.” Phil. 1:22

Or, there’s the idea of dying to the flesh, found in Romans 8:13. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=52&chapter=8&verse=12&end_verse=14&version=49&context=context

So, He wants me dead in those senses… but it’s not like Jesus wants particular people to die. He wants all to live, all to come to a saving knowledge of who He is, and what His life gives to those who have accepted what He has done for them. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=67&chapter=4&verse=5&end_verse=7&version=51&context=context

Unless you meant something else entirely???

You nailed it, Karen. I’ve seen it lately in the context of a slam on Christians, but I think it’s more appropriate in the Romans context. Too often, we have no concept of what it means to die to the flesh. As a believer I struggle with living in the world, but not being of it, if that makes sense.
