Today is Mark Twain Day

Category: funny stuff, miscellaneousSteve @ 13:40 pm

If he hadn’t died, Mark Twain would have been 170 today. Here are some of my favorite quotes:

  • The trouble ain’t that there is too many fools, but that the lightning ain’t distributed right.”
  • “By trying we can easily learn to endure adversity. Another man’s, I mean.”
  • “In Paris they simply stared when I spoke to them in French; I never did succeed in making those idiots understand their language.”
  • “It is noble to be good; it is still nobler to teach others to be good — and less trouble.”
  • “God made the Idiot for practice, and then He made the School Board.”
  • “A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way.”
